Croydon Chess Club simultaneous match with Guy West

Published by Alex Makin on Thursday 5th of February, 2009

The Croydon Chess Club is based at the Croydon RSL and offers a fun and friendly environment for chess players of all ages and skill levels.

Tonight marked the return of the Croydon Chess Club’s weekly meetings, with a simultaneous match between club members and Guy West an International Master and Australian Chess Champion.

Guy played twenty-two of the club members in a simultaneous match, whereby he moved from one board to another to make a chess move against each player. All proceeds raised from the evening were donated to the Australian Chess Olympiad Team.

The Croydon Chess Club provides a junior coaching program, as well as regular tournaments for adult players. For more information please visit www.croydonchess.com.
