About Maroondah and Loughnan’s Hill Ward
The City of Maroondah has a residential population of 101,229 and is located in Melbourne’s outer east, 25 kilometres east of the Melbourne CBD. Suburbs within Maroondah include Bayswater, Heathmont, Ringwood, Croydon, Kilsyth and Warranwood.
Loughnan’s Hill covers a geographical area of 7.5sq km and is located 24kms east of the Melbourne CBD. The ward is bound by Williams Road and Tortice Drive to the north; Wonga, Warrandyte and Wantirna Roads to the east, Canterbury Road to the south and Heatherdale and Glenvale Roads to the west.
New ward boundaries will take effect from the November 2008 Council election. As a result Loughnan’s Hill and Mullum have been merged into a new Mullum Ward, which also includes parts of the former Yarrunga and Clocktower wards.
There will now be three councillors elected in each of the wards. To ensure that we continue making a difference vote 1 for Alex Makin and make sure you number each candidate. Voting is compulsory for all residents between the ages of 18 and 70.
Due to this new ward structure I will be standing as a candidate for Mullum Ward in the 2008 council elections.
