Hi, I’m Cr Alex Makin
Your Mayor and Councillor for Montague Ward in the City of Port Phillip
On 11 November 2024, I was declared the elected Councillor for Montague Ward in the City of Port Phillip.
My time as an elected Councillor for the City of Port Phillip builds on my previous experiences on Maroondah City Counci, where I served as one of Victoria’s youngest politically independent Councillors during 2005 to 2012.
I have lived locally in Port Melbourne since 2013 and ran for Montague Ward to provide our community with a local and independent voice.
I was elected by my Council colleagues as Mayor for the City of Port Philip during the 2025/2026 Council Year. As Mayor, I am keen to advance Council’s advocacy on sustainable transport and coastal erosion, as well as plan for our future communities in Fishermans Bend and across Port Phillip.
My Blog provides regular updates on my activities as your elected Councillor for Montague Ward.
I’m here to represent you, so please contact me on:
