Dig in Community Gardens, which is auspiced by Southport Community Centre, is located at 351 Williamstown Road within the Fishermans Bend precinct.

This evening, I was invited to a tour of Dig In and its garden plots.

Dig In provides garden plots for members of the Port Phillip community, which is increasingly important given urban densification resulting in less private gardens. Dig In includes many garden plots available for community use, although there is a current wait list due to demand.

Sustainability through the recycling and reuse forms part of its ethos and members are also encouraged to participate in a monthly working bee.
