The Port Melbourne Historical and Preservation which meets each month at the Port Melbourne Town Hall.

I attended tonight’s meeting which featured local resident Mike Gahan an aviation specialist and former RAAF pilot, who not only documented his journey to Port Melbourne, but also the extensive aviation history within Fishermans Bend.

As Fishermans Bend evolves into a residential and commercial precinct, its history provides an important connection to place and its identity.
