See Yup Temple: The Next 170 Years Exhibition

The See Yup Temple in South Melbourne began in 1856 and reflects the cultural connection of South Melbourne to early Chinese migration within Victoria.

In 2024 the See Yup Temple was damaged by an electrical fire with restoration works ongoing to preserve the Temple.

I was invited to the exhibition launch, alongside Cr Libby Buckingham (Balaclava), where we also received an update on the restoration of the temple.

The Next 170 Years Exhibition, showcases the restoration works that have been undertaken and the tremendous efforts of the community in preserving this South Melbourne landmark.
