Maroondah Bushlinks July 2007 Meeting

This evening I attended a Maroondah Bushlinks meeting to discuss issues relating to the preservation of Maroondah’s bushland. Bushlinks is an umbrella group consisting of the various ‘Friends Of’ groups that work tirelessly and diligently to maintain the many natural reserves and remnant bushland that exists within the municipality

Discussion focused on Maroondah’s Environment Forum, which will be presented back to Council on the 19th of July, and the future of Council owned remnant bushland at 14 Manifold Court in Croydon South. Given that this site contains a number of significant tree species I will be voting against the sale of this land when it returns to council for consideration.

In the interim I strongly encourage the Maroondah community to voice their opinions in regard to the proposed sale of 14 Manifold Court. Submissions can be emailed to me at alex.makin@maroondah.vic.gov.au or sent via post to Maroondah City Council at PO Box 156, Ringwood 3134.
