The Ringwood and District Historical Society has organised a Ringwood East Heritage Weekend to commemorate the oldest township within the Maroondah area. Ringwood East with its large and prosperous mining industry was already well established from the late 1860s while other parts of Maroondah were still sparsely populated.
Events include a guided bus tour of Ringwood East on Saturday the 8th of November from 2pm and a launch of the Recollections of East Ringwood booklet at Ringwood East Community Hall at 2pm on Sunday the 9th of November.
