Media Release: Playgrounds around Maroondah

Maroondah City Council has recently completed upgrades to two local playgrounds creating improved places for the community and particularly families to enjoy.

Councillor Alex Makin said the two playgrounds can be found at Gladys Grove in Croydon (Melways Map 50 F2) and Chesney Drive in Ringwood (Melways Map 50 D2).

“To ensure that playgrounds throughout Maroondah continue to provide a fun, interactive and imaginative area for the community to enjoy, Council conducts regular upgrades and maintenance to playgrounds,” said Cr Makin.

“A further two playgrounds are about to have a facelift, the first is at Brentwood Park in Croydon and the second is at McAlpin Reserve in Ringwood North,” said Cr Makin.

“Council staff will install new play equipment at Brentwood Park during the second week in March, with new landscaping works to follow. The playground will be closed for the remainder of March,” said Cr Makin.

Brentwood Park is in Mandowie Crescent, Croydon (Melways Ref: 51 D2). Alternate playgrounds close by include Adams Reserve off Dorset Road (Melways Ref: 51 B2), Charles Allen Reserve off Hull Road (Melways Ref: 51 D2), and Wyreena Community Arts Centre off Hull Road (Melways Ref: 51 B3).

“McAlpin Reserve will be receiving some additional play equipment as well as new landscaping late in March, which will require only a partial closure of the existing playground for a couple of days,” said Cr Makin.
