The Anzac Commemoration Service for Port Melbourne is held at the World War I Memorial on Beach Street and was widely attended by the Port Melbourne community, with schools, sporting clubs and community groups laying wreaths as part of the proceedings.

I joined the Mayor Cr Louise Crawford and Port Melbourne Ward Councillor Heather Cunsolo in laying a wreath on behalf of the City of Port Phillip.

The service included a keynote address from Brigadier Thomas Nairn who highlighted the contribution of Australian servicepeople, both in times of war and in peacekeeping missions around world. The address served as an ongoing reminder of the critical work our Australian service people conduct throughout the world.
