South Port Day Links delivers volunteer based programs for older people, people with a disability and the people that care for them, by providing community-based transport, gardening and pet walking.
This evening I attended South Port Day Links Gala fundraising dinner, supporting efforts of the community based organisation to support its activities. Speakers included one of the founding members of South Port Day Links, as well as a recent client, who both shared their experiences with the organisation.
It was fantastic to see the community rally behind South Port Day Links, with strong competition for several of the auction prizes and a fantastic attendance to this evening’s event.
Several Councillors joined me in attending the event, including Deputy Mayor Cr Bryan Mears (Lakeside), Cr Heather Cunsolo (South Melbourne) and Cr Justin Halliday (Alma), as well as Nina Taylor, MP for Albert Park.
South Port Day Link volunteers transport residents to over 11,0000 appointments, shopping trips, and social activities every year. For information on South Port Day Links visit: SOUTH PORT DAY LINKS
