Tour of the Fishermans Bend Circular Design Collective

The Fishermans Bend Circular Design Collective is an initiative of FBIDEAs, providing an incubation space for businesses innovating ideas that help build the circular economy.

Fishermans Bend, located within the Montague Ward, provides immense opportunity as not only a complement Melbourne’s CBD, but also as an innovation hub that fosters entrepreneurship and business initativies.

I was joined by Cr Justin Halliday (Alma Ward) and Cr Beti Jay (South Melbourne) in a tour of the Fishermans Bend Design Collective, exploring the businesses that are developing and commercialising their circular design initiatives. Examples include Lousy Ink, which transforms left over ink in printer cartridges into artist suppliers and After, which recycle clothing and textiles into yarn.

The Fishermans Bend Circular Design Collective is part of FB IDEAs, which also incorporate art exhibitions and other activities to foster innovation within Fishermans Bend.
