Madden House Opening Ceremony

The City of Port Phillip has a history of proactively working with community housing providers to increase and improve housing models that support people experiencing homelessness.

Today Madden House opened, where Council contributed funds and land to work with Homes Victoria and St Kilda Community Housing to provide 26 self-contained units for people experiencing homelessness.

Madden House provides not only housing options for people experiencing homelessness but incorporates an innovative Common Ground model, which includes on-site wraparound support services to help stay in housing.

The opening of Madden House demonstrates the impact that can be achieved through Council’s approach to homelessness and affordable housing. This is an incredible project and will be managed by St Kilda Community Housing.
