The Port Melbourne Historical and Preservation Society meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at Port Melbourne Town Hall and features guest speakers discussing Port Melbourne and other relevant historical topics.

Tonight’s meeting incorporated a question and answer format featuring Judith Mackenzie as a guest speaker. Judith not only grew up in Port Melbourne, but was a pioneer in medicine, including a medical career as one of the early female surgeons. Judith discussed her early life in Port Melbourne, her studies in the UK and her career back in Australia.
