This afternoon I joined the Neighbourhood Conversations session in Fishermans Bend, held at Fennell Reserve, Port Melbourne’s newest off-leash dog park. I took Lady and Duchess to the session this afternoon so they could enjoy the dog park, while engaging our local community.
Over the course of next year Fennell Reserve is due to become Port Melbourne’s first fenced off-leash dog park but is already available for dogs and their owners to enjoy. Today’s conversations focused on the Community Infrastructure Plan, an issue topical for Fishermans Bend as we need to identify the community facilities required for this emerging and growing community.
Successful urban renewal requires public and sustainable transport alongside the delivery of community and cultural facilities. The Community Infrastructure Plan will provide the roadmap required for Council foster a vibrant community in Fishermans Bend.
Thank you to the many community members that spoke with me throughout this afternoon.
